In the morning, St. Michael School (SMS) follows Montgomery County decisions regarding a late opening or an early closing of school.

When there is inclement weather, please listen to the radio/TV for announcements regarding Montgomery County schools. If they are closed, SMS will be closed. If they open 1 hour late, SMS will open at 9:30. If they open 2 hours late, SMS will open at 10:30.

However, once school is in progress, SMS will make the decision with the help of the Archdiocese of Washington Catholic Schools Office. Typically we will follow the decisions made by Montgomery County.

If it is necessary to close early due to snow, ice, etc., please listen to the local radio for updates. Please respond promptly to pick up your child in inclement weather for your safety and so that our teachers may get home to be with their families as well.

On days when we must close early due to inclement weather, Aftercare will be cancelled.
